From the Champaign County fair.
I have to admit that my initial reaction to this was very snooty. “Sleepwear winner? Ha!” But this image has dogged me a bit. After all, I don’t have the skills to make any clothes. And aren’t I proud of my photographic creations? Why shouldn’t someone be proud of their needlework?

Continuing with my playing with Chiaroscuro (or pseudo-chiaroscuro?), this is our piano at sunset. This was taken with my digital camera and processed (in Aperture) with the red filter for B&W conversion. I think that I like the “mini” direction this is moving in. I’ve got several shots that are waiting for me on film, but none with a red filter. I’ll need my tripod for that, and that will be a bit more challenging with the little ones (especially around dinner time).
A detail shot of the music holder and shadow. Should I have tried this at a different angle? More dead on? Again, processed with the red filter during monochrome conversion.
Crash
The Champaign County Camera Club is holding their annual photography contest, and here is a scan of one of my prints for the competition.
I have just received an enlarger meter from Darkroom Automation, and this is one of the first prints that I made using it. I have to say that using the enlarger meter is a breathe of fresh air. It’s incredibly straight forward to determine where to start with a picture. While I really would have appreciated the British version by RH Designs, this was considerably cheaper.
We also did a 2 year old shoot for Stella.
